Woodcurls, woodchips, sawdust, just plain floorsweepings, it is all the stuff left behind after something useful or beautiful is made in a woodshop.

A fun time was had by all.
I met a blog friend last night...in the flesh. I also met his friend Jay, who I now consider to be my new friend. I will take the memories of the evening with me for weeks.
E-friends turned irl-friends are precious things. Over 12 years ago I started making friends on a national homeschooling forum. About 20 or so eventually formed another website where we spent years chatting, arguing, discussing, laughing crying, and learning about everything from theology to teens, movies, books, recipes, relationships, divorce, and much more. Over the past 7 years there have been 5 or 6 retreats where as many of these ladies as possible would get together in person. These women probably know me better than most of my local friends, because we've spent years talking and sharing many of our most pressing thoughts as our main activity.
Long-distance friendships have their own challenges, but it's been worth it.

The cool thing is that he just moved from Boston to Durham. We may make it a monthly event.
