Woodcurls, woodchips, sawdust, just plain floorsweepings, it is all the stuff left behind after something useful or beautiful is made in a woodshop.
Overall I agree with Lisa. I definitely want my daughters to dress modestly. I think it's important for their own sense of self as much as anything else. While I do mention that girls should not dress to allure or tempt, and we don't want to cause a "brother" to stumble, I don't want to over emphasize that aspect of the matter. I don't know how to express it, but putting it in those terms seems demeaning for the woman, as if they are the only or main reason a male would stumble or sin. It reminds me a little too much of the mindset behind swaddling women head-to-toe in black cloth.
ReplyDeleteWomen should be modest because it is best for them and most pleasing to God, not because if they don't they are responsible for the sins of others.
