Yesterday, Shelley and I drove to Durham to meet a friend for lunch. While in town we dropped by a Kroger Store for a few things. While there, Shelley asked me to go to the pharmacy and acquire some pseudophedrine. I am required by law to go to the counter and ask for the product.
I had to fill out a form with name, address, phone number, DOB, etc... The pharmacy tech had to input the info into a computer system. She then took a copy of my info and pasted it into another book. I than was required by store policy to purchase the item at that cash register. The entire request and purchase took over 15 mins. I resent this intrusion into simple commerce. So much for the home of the free and the brave.
